Test Automation Lead

Location: Malmö, Skåne County, Sweden

Job description

About us

At E.ON, digital solutions play an important role in enabling the energy transition. Within Business Digital Technology (BDT) we develop and operate digital solutions that support E.ON’s business areas in Sweden. You will join the Automation, Optimization & QA Services team, where we work to strengthen quality and automation across our IT deliveries. We collaborate with development teams across the organization and support them with Test Automation Strategy, Roadmap, and Technical solutions related to Test Automation.

Test automation is a key focus area as we evolve our BizDevOps delivery model, move towards more agile ways of working, and increase automation maturity across our teams. To support this journey, we are now looking for a colleague to join the team as a Test Automation Lead!

Your role

As a Test Automation Lead, you will help drive and enable test automation across BDT. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with a broader perspective. You will support teams in improving their test automation solutions, help solve technical challenges, and contribute to developing how we work with automation across multiple product teams. Some days you may help a team overcome a technical automation challenge. On other days you may work with product owners or QA colleagues to improve automation maturity, support them to develop their test automation roadmap and ways of working.

In this role you will:

  • Support teams in implementing and improving test automation solutions
  • Contribute to developing and evolving our test automation approach and roadmap
  • Collaborate with developers, product owners and QA colleagues across multiple teams
  • Help define and follow up on test automation goals and KPIs
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and contribute to a test automation community

If you enjoy combining technical problem-solving with enabling others, this role offers a great opportunity to influence how test automation evolves across E.ON.

Your profile

We believe you are a technically curious and collaborative person who enjoys helping teams improve how they work with test automation. You have solid experience within test automation and want to broaden your impact by working across multiple teams and systems. A university degree in IT or a similar field is beneficial, but we value practical experience and curiosity just as much.

We believe you have:

  • Hands-on experience in test automation, including writing automated tests in code
  • Experience with automation frameworks for UI and API testing
  • Experience with tools such as Playwright, JIRA and test management tools like Xray or Tosca

It is a plus if you also have experience with SAP test automation, Test Automation using TOSCA and synthetic test data management.

We believe you are curious about how digital solutions can improve quality and delivery in complex IT environments. You are comfortable working hands-on while also supporting and guiding others, and you have the ability to communicate technical topics clearly to different stakeholders. Since the role involves collaborating with many teams across the organization, you enjoy building relationships and helping teams move forward in their test automation journey. At the same time, you appreciate a collaborative and supportive culture. You take initiative and drive improvements, while valuing teamwork and a pragmatic way of working together.
