Machine Learning Engineer

Location: Malmö, Skåne County, Sweden

Job description

About us

Within Digital Development, we drive digitalization and innovation for the Energy Distribution business. With data, analytics, and AI at the core, we build solutions that strengthen our processes, improve customer experience, and support a more sustainable energy system. The department consists of three teams – Data Analytics, Data Management, and Digital Services & Experience – working cross-functionally to develop and operate data and AI solutions and ensure high-quality data.

The Data Analytics team is our expert function within advanced analytics and AI, working closely with the business to identify opportunities, develop and deploy models, and enable data-driven decision-making. We are now strengthening the team with a Machine Learning Engineer who wants to work hands-on with data, technology, and real business impact – and grow with us.

Your role

As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will work at the intersection of data engineering and machine learning, building scalable solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across our business. A key part of the role is working with large volumes of smart meter data, ensuring it is processed, validated, and made available in a reliable and efficient way.

You will collaborate closely with data scientists, data engineers, and stakeholders to understand needs and turn them into practical solutions. The role combines hands-on development with continuous improvement of both solutions and ways of working.

In your role, you will:

  • Build and maintain data pipelines for production
  • Develop and deploy machine learning solutions and data products
  • Work with large-scale datasets, primarily within smart metering
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Continuously improve existing data products and workflows

We work according to DataOps and MLOps principles, with Data as a Product central to how we design, deliver, and operate our data and ML solutions.

Who we are looking for

We believe you have relevant experience, including building scalable data pipelines, preferably using PySpark and Databricks. A university degree in IT or a similar field is beneficial, but we value practical experience and curiosity just as much.

You also have experience in several of the following areas:

  • Python and SQL
  • Cloud platforms, preferably Azure
  • CI/CD pipelines and Git-based version control
  • Applying machine learning techniques in practice

Experience with DataOps and MLOps practices is considered a plus.

Beyond your technical skills, we place great value on how you work and collaborate. You are a curious and solution-oriented person who enjoys exploring new ideas and continuously improving how things are done. You take ownership of your work while collaborating closely with others, and feel comfortable navigating complexity, even when not all answers are given from the start.

Since the role involves close collaboration with both technical teams and business stakeholders, you are comfortable communicating and enjoy turning needs into practical solutions. You are a team player who values collaboration, contributes to an open and supportive environment, and believes that the best results are achieved together. Professional English is required, and Swedish is considered a plus.

How is it to work with us?

Our culture is characterized by curiosity, collaboration, and a shared ambition to create real impact. We believe in an open environment with high psychological safety, where we support each other, share knowledge, and grow together.

A warm welcome to apply and join us on the journey toward a sustainable society! The application deadline is April 10th.
